The purpose of this education activity is to enhance the knowledge of the Hospice Registered Nurse in the area of end of life & palliative care by addressing excellence in hospice services, standards and ethical practices in an effort to promote quality, compassionate care for the terminally ill and their families as evidenced by participant post-test scores & course evaluations.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify strategies to improve caregiver communication and support for individuals with dementia and other life-limiting illnesses.
2. Demonstrate methods for documenting psychosocial needs and interdisciplinary care that reflect patient decline and support hospice eligibility.
3. Apply evidence-based approaches to wound care, pain management, and opioid use in hospice patients from a psychosocial perspective.
4. Evaluate bereavement services for diverse populations, including children and those not previously connected to hospice.
5. Describe how humor, arts therapy, and resilience-building techniques can be used to support emotional well-being in serious illness.
6. Assess current documentation and quality improvement practices to ensure compliance with hospice standards and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Target Audience: Executive Directors, Clinical Managers, Corporate Compliance Officers, QAPI Coordinators, the Interdisciplinary Group, and Hospice Nurses.
